Artuer 2

Artuer, my son,

Let me tell you how I came to Dinsun.

I was birthed on a plot of earth in the midst of the sea, of rock spewed from the fiery mouth of a mountain to give the world new ground from within its depths. It is one of the oldest places on this earth, unchanged by the currents of time. In that place was a bed of rock on which I laid, entombed in Yevana’s sacred stone, whilst my body took shape.

When I awoke, so did the light of Yevana within me and all the memories of where and who I came from. This you will learn when you find home. The earth was yet strange to me, so I walked most every terrain, swam all waters, and scoured the sky to understand the sphere on which we live. There are places that by wisdom I could not go, for they were inhabited by villains. In the seas I met all sorts of creatures that would never grace the surface, some that help form the bedrock of modern terrain and maintain it. In the skies, I glided on wind currents alongside beasts as massive as rainclouds before a deluge, likened to the giants of the seas. On land, of all the wild creatures, man races and giants I have met, I stood in the presence of our eternal ancestors, pillars of the earth, and spoke with them. By name, you may come to know them as Lakduren (Lock-dur-ren). They are much encumbered, for they must uphold this once damaged earth, and only they can heal it, for now. Still, if ever you need their help, should that need be so great, you may call them.

I departed them with volumes of knowledge, having had my fill of observation, and arrived on the night’s tide at the north shore of Sortakoa, to a modest purpose, seeing there was great need there, and sad history.

The people of Dinsun were in danger. Their kingdom was threatened by another king, a conqueror. Sortakoa is a precious land, such that many may seek control of its every border. There is an opportunity for this land and its people to thrive in ways which supersede any mild man’s dreams. I came here to offer that opportunity. This small part will shape its future, for peace or for pain.
